Gas Market Prices – 15 July 2018

Key gas observations for the month ending 15 July 2018:

  • Average STTM prices in Brisbane, Adelaide and Sydney for last 30 days were higher than the 12 month rolling average and same period last year.
  • Average VIC Gas hub price for the last 30 days was higher than the 12 month rolling average and same period last year.
  • Longford gas plant suffered from outages during on 17 and 21 June. The outages caused production levels to decline by about 20% according to ESSO. Lower supply resulted in an uplift in gas prices.
  • Volume of gas sold in the Victorian, Adelaide Brisbane hubs were typical of this time of year driven by cooler temperatures and demand for heating.
