Key electricity market observations for the week ending 19 April 2019:
AEMO released a report titled “Technical Integration of Distributed Energy Resources, improving DER capabilities to benefit consumers and the power system”. AEMO has commenced a program of work designed to operate in partnership with a range of parties to facilitate smooth and effective integration of DER.
DER is a term used to describe small-scale generation and storage capacity.
Aggregation of DER will be a very useful tool in the future, and is often referred to as “virtual power plants” which have been trialled in different parts of the NEM.
LGC prices pushed up last week, however, trading of certificates were thin.
