Electricity Market Prices – Week ending 27 April 2018

Key electricity market observations for the week ending 27 April 2018:

 

  • Large increase in SA average spot prices last week due to high prices on Thursday
  • SA forward contract prices were relatively flat with small volumes trading on the ASX
  • QLD and NSW spot prices were subdued and consistent with the previous week
  • VIC average spot prices increased by $8.18/MWh to $77.35/MWh
  • There were mixed movements for VIC forward contracts last week
  • 2020 VIC contract prices have been declining and are slowly aligning with NSW prices
